Anima Chic

Non è aprile, ma maggio il mese più crudele. Ci sono queste giornate in cui avrei voglia solo di prendere un telo e distendermi al mare, e così ho fatto. Ho sfruttato alcuni giorni liberi per tornare in Puglia, luogo dell'anima, terra di antiche tradizioni e al contempo d'innovazione. Ho trovato alloggio in un posto speciale, B&B Mondo Antico che sapientemente unisce lo stile tipico di Polignano con il comfort moderno. Polignano è una cittadina unica, che vive estati vivissime e inverni sonnolenti: la stagione migliore per visitarla è certamente la primavera. La sera le sue stradine offrono degli scorci unici, e vi sono dei negozi con bellissime ceramiche pugliesi. Complice un clima mite, sono uscita spesso a cena, accompagnata dalla mia borsa essential pochette Linda Damiani. Un ristorante dove sono stata benissimo e Pescaria dove ho provato tartare, pesce crudo e un fritto leggero e delizioso.

April is not the cruelest month, May is. There are some days where you just want to grab a towel and go to the beach, and that is exactly what I did. I took a couple of days off and I went to the wonderful Puglia region, a place where ancient traditions survive and recent innovations take place. I chose the beautiful city of Polignano and I stayed in a very special place: B&B Mondo antico. Here, the typical Polignano style pairs up with modern comfort. Polignano is a unique city, where people enjoy vibrant summers and calm winters, the perfect season to come here is certainly spring. Strolling around the narrow streets in the evening is a suggestive experience and you can find interesting shops that sell ceramics, which are typical of this region. It was warm, so we often went out for dinner and I never forgot to bring my Linda Essential Pochette bag by Linda Damiani. A nice restaurant where I ate wonderfully was Pescaria. I tasted their wonderful fish tartare and their delicious fish fry.

We thought of a new way to let you discover our village. We created “experiential paths”, a new way to make you feel at home when you choose to visit Polignano. The idea of these paths originated from our desire to open the doors of Polignano because we think the simplest way to know a place is not by visiting it, but by living it, even if only for one hour! Our paths have been created to share our customs and tradition, but also the stories of our people. What makes a place special is the people with whom you discover these places. And that is how our community was born: Polignano Lovers. Our community is open to everyone, without distinctions: those who were born here, those who moved here, those who fell in love with this place, everyone who feels at home here.

Ceramiche pugliesi

Tra le varie arti che in Puglia hanno dato da vivere per secoli ad intere famiglie di artigiani, troviamo dunque proprio quella della ceramica. Ancora oggi, i ceramisti pugliesi lavorano secondo le tecniche tradizionali, realizzando, smaltando e pitturando stoviglie, pirofile, oggettistica e suppellettili di ogni genere con amore e pazienza. Ogni zona ha le sue peculiarità ed i prodotti che in qualche modo la contraddistinguono. Sono famosi i manufatti di Grottaglie, quelli di Laterza e quelli di Cutrofiano. Vi sarà sicuramente capitato di vedere in giro e di riconoscere, magari in qualche trattoria in giro per l’Italia, stoviglie e piatti decorati con un motivo decorativo a forma di galletto o di uva. Quei motivi sono tipici pugliesi e sono, se vogliamo, decori intramontabili. Chi ama lo stile tradizionale che non stanca mai e non passa mai di moda, sicuramente avrà in casa qualche stoviglia o pirofila di questo genere.

Among the many centuries-old crafts that people from Puglia have developed, we can indeed find the ceramic craft. The Apulian craftsmen still work employing traditional techniques, creating, glazing and painting dishes, baking dishes, furnishing objects of all kinds, with love and patience. Every area has its peculiarity and its products that make it truly unique. The most famous are crafts from Grottaglie, Laterza and Cutrofiano. The traditional Apulian motifs are the rooster and the grapes, you have surely seen them around or recognized them on a plate or a dish in an Italian restaurant. They are typical of the region and timeless decorations. Those who love a traditional style that never gets old or goes out of fashion will surely have a pottery like those in their house. The ceramic is an ancient tradition, untouched by time.

Pescaria

Pescaria. Il fast food ittico all'italiana da Polignano a Milano. Un modo tutto nuovo di gustare buon pesce, crudo e fritto. L'idea è nata nel cuore di Polignano poco più di un anno fa, con l'obiettivo di valorizzare il pescato locale e proporre un nuovo modo di consumarlo, rapido, informale, ma creativo e di qualità. E grazie all'esperienza dello chef Lucio Mele e all'ottima materia prima, l'esordio è stato un successo. Ora si punta dritto su Milano.

Pescaria. The Italian fast food from Polignano to Milan. A new way to taste good fish, raw or fried. The idea was born in the heart of Polignano, a year ago. Their founders wished to promote local fish and propose new ways to eat it: more casual and creative. So they teamed up with chef Lucio Mele and used only the best type of food, it was a great success. And now they are in Milan too.
